The ferry is free and carries pedestrians, bicycles, mopeds and permitted disability vehicles, but not cars or brommobiles.
The Buiksloterweg landing is directly opposite Amsterdam Centraal on the north side of the IJ.
Paid street parking around €4.19/hour at Overhoeks.
At the ferry tip and Overhoeks/Grasweg area, expect about €4.19/hour, Monday–Saturday 09:00–24:00 and Sunday 12:00–24:00. A short walk into Van der Pek / IJplein is about €3.01/hour under the same longer hours.
For a city day trip, use P+R Noord instead of hunting curb spots at the landing.

The Buiksloterweg ferry follows one of Amsterdam’s oldest crossings over the IJ. The Buiksloterveer may have connected Amsterdam with Waterland as early as around 1300; from 1660 it landed at the tip of the Volewijck, close to today’s Buiksloterweg.
In 1662, the Tolhuis opened beside the landing for travellers continuing north. Its name referred to the toll for the Buikslotervaart. What was once a sparsely populated city edge is now the busy water link from Amsterdam Centraal to Overhoeks, Eye Filmmuseum and Amsterdam Noord.
