The ferry landings are on the IJ side of the station. Follow the ferry signs through or around Amsterdam Centraal.
Paid street parking around €8.05/hour, 24/7.
Around De Ruijterkade and Centraal Station this is Amsterdam’s highest street tariff (tariefgebied 1), charged every day. Street bays near the ferry piers are scarce.
Do not park here for a ferry trip. Use P+R Noord (€6–13 per 24 hours with OV) or park cheaper in Noord and ferry to Centraal.

The ferry piers behind Amsterdam Centraal stand on the city’s former harbour front. For centuries the IJ was open water filled with shipping. In the nineteenth century, rail transformed this edge of Amsterdam: Centraal Station was built on reclaimed islands in the IJ and opened in 1889.
The station became Amsterdam’s principal rail gateway, while ferries retained the water connection with Noord. The crossings behind the station still turn the historic harbour edge into a practical starting point for journeys to Buiksloterweg, IJplein, Distelweg and NDSM.
